The House of the Rising Sun ha come argomento una   vita  sfortunata   ed è   ambientata   a   New Orleans.L'espressione "House of the Rising Sun" (Casa del sole nascente) è un eufemismo per indicare una casa chiusa. Alcuni ritengono che la casa sia esistita realmente e che fosse presieduta   da   una maitresse di origini francesi chiamata     Marianne Le Soleil Levant,    dal   cui   cognome   (o forse soprannome)   sembra   essere derivata la denominazione della casa.
